Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct in-home or virtual therapy sessions tailored to the individual needs of clients, facilitating both individual and group therapy as appropriate.

• Implement evidence-based interventions aimed at reducing high-risk behaviors, including self-injurious behaviors (SIB) and physical aggression.
\n
• Assist in developing anger management strategies, enhancing coping mechanisms, and fostering social skills among children and teens.
\n
• Engage collaboratively with the Child Family Treatment Team and interdisciplinary colleagues to ensure a holistic approach to care.
\n
• Document all therapeutic activities promptly, including assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes, ensuring compliance with organizational standards.

• Participate actively in monthly team meetings, providing input and recommendations for client care.
\n

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Your primary focus will be on supporting children ages 3-20 who have developmental disabilities and intellectual challenges. The clients that you will work with come from varying backgrounds, requiring a compassionate, adaptable approach that honors their unique experiences and needs. This role is particularly suitable for those who are passionate about youth development and inclusive support strategies.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s degree in Counseling, Family Therapy, or a closely related field is required.

• An active and unrestricted Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) license.
\n
• Availability for a minimum of 5-10 hours per week during after-school hours, specifically from 4-7 pm, with some weekend flexibility preferred.

• A valid driver’s license and access to a registered vehicle are necessary for any potential in-home visits.
\n
• Ability to pass a thorough criminal background check, including fingerprinting.
\n

Preferred Experience\n

• Previous experience providing positive behavior support to children experiencing emotional or behavioral challenges.

• Experience working specifically with children who have intellectual/developmental disabilities is highly advantageous.

• Familiarity with telehealth systems and therapeutic platforms will be beneficial for onboarding.

Compensation and Benefits\n
