Work Environment

This position is based onsite at our surgical center, which is equipped with state-of-the-art technology and an array of resources designed to facilitate both patient care and surgical procedures. Working alongside a dedicated team of experienced professionals, you will collaborate closely with dermatologists and fellow clinicians to ensure a seamless experience for our patients. Your workweek will generally follow a Monday to Friday schedule, from 9 AM to 5 PM, ensuring a balanced work-life integration.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough physical examinations and obtain comprehensive medical histories from patients.
• Assist board-certified dermatologists in diagnosing and formulating treatment plans for various skin conditions, ranging from common issues to more complex dermatologic disorders.
• Perform minor surgical procedures including suturing, cryotherapy, and skin biopsies to assess and treat skin lesions.
• Educate patients on skin care best practices, preventive measures against skin diseases, and treatment regimens to enhance overall skin health.
• Prescribe medications and treatments as indicated during patient consultations to manage dermatological conditions effectively.
• Order and interpret laboratory tests and other diagnostic procedures to inform clinical decision-making.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The Physician Assistant will treat a diverse patient population, including individuals of all ages with various dermatologic concerns. From young patients battling acne to older adults dealing with skin cancers or chronic skin conditions, your role will be vital in addressing their needs through personalized care and guidance.

Qualifications

• A current and active Physician Assistant certification is mandatory.
• A minimum of 2 years of experience working in a medical setting, with a strong preference for dermatology or related fields.
• Proficiency in working with Electronic Medical Records (EMR); 2+ years of experience is desirable.
• Ability to complete a comprehensive training program alongside our dermatologists, typically held Monday to Thursday from 9 AM to 4 PM; post-training hours may be adjusted based on clinic needs.
• Experience treating medical dermatology patients of all ages is essential.

Preferred Experience

• Prior experience in a dermatology-focused practice is strongly preferred, as it aligns with our commitment to providing specialized and efficient care.
• Familiarity with advanced dermatological procedures and treatments will be highly regarded.
