Work Environment

The Physician Assistant will work in a hospital setting, providing direct support in our Pain Management department. Operating within a collaborative environment, you will engage in hands-on clinical evaluations and utilize state-of-the-art medical equipment. Monday to Friday, you will work an 8-hour day, allowing for regular patient interaction while maintaining a work-life balance. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients to evaluate pain levels, medical history, and treatment needs, ensuring all evaluations are meticulously documented in accordance with hospital policies.
• Implement evidence-based therapeutic interventions, including medication management, physical therapy referrals, and interventional pain procedures, customizing care plans based on individual patient assessments.
• Act as a crucial liaison between patients, families, and the broader healthcare team, promoting coordinated care and open communication while advocating for patient needs.
• Educate patients and their families regarding treatment options, pain management strategies, and lifestyle modifications to enhance overall well-being and manage chronic pain effectively.
• Assist in the supervision of nurse practitioners and medical assistants, fostering a supportive and collaborative team environment.
• Stay abreast of the latest developments in pain management and treatment methodologies through ongoing professional development and active participation in relevant clinical research.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The Physician Assistant will primarily serve adult patients dealing with acute and chronic pain conditions. This role is pivotal in helping individuals reclaim their quality of life through tailored pain management strategies. You will approach each patient as a unique case, emphasizing personalized care that balances medical intervention with holistic health practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or Master's in Physician Assistant studies from an accredited program.
• A current state Physician Assistant license, maintained in good standing.
• Certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) is mandatory.
• Strong clinical assessment skills, especially related to pain diagnosis and management.
• Proficient with electronic medical record systems, Office Ally preferred.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to facilitate patient education and support team collaboration.
• Fluency in Spanish is highly desirable but not required.

Preferred Experience

• Previous experience in pain management, orthopedics, or related fields is highly valued.
• Familiarity with advanced pain management techniques, including but not limited to injections, nerve blocks, and ongoing therapy assessments.

Compensation and Benefits

This position offers a competitive salary ranging from $120,000 to $140,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
