Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough assessments and evaluations to develop individualized therapy plans tailored to each client’s unique needs.
• Deliver evidence-based therapeutic interventions for various populations, including individuals, families, groups, and couples, addressing a wide range of mental health issues.
• Implement a variety of therapeutic techniques, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), psychodynamic therapy, and solution-focused short therapy to enhance client outcomes.
• Maintain and update accurate clinical records in compliance with legal and ethical standards, ensuring confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
• Engage in continuous professional development through workshops, training, and staying informed about the latest advancements in mental health care.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The LPC will focus on serving diverse populations who are often underserved in the area of mental health. This includes individuals facing challenges such as anxiety, depression, trauma, substance abuse, and relationship difficulties. Many of our clients come from backgrounds with limited access to traditional mental health resources, making your role crucial in providing them with the support and guidance they need.

Qualifications

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Counseling, Psychology, or a related field.
• Active and unrestricted licensure as a Professional Counselor (LPC) in the state of Connecticut.
• A minimum of two years of experience in a counseling role, particularly within a clinical context.
• A strong understanding of legal and ethical standards pertinent to mental health practice.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, allowing for the establishment of rapport with a diverse client base.
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively within a healthcare team environment.
• Familiarity with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems and other relevant technologies.

Preferred Experience

• Specializations in family therapy, couples therapy, substance misuse counseling, or trauma-informed care are highly preferred.
• Prior experience working with community health organizations is advantageous, particularly in underserved areas.
