Work Environment

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough evaluations of patients to assess their conditions and needs by analyzing medical history and performing specific assessments.
• Clearly communicate evaluation findings and treatment plans to patients and their families, actively involving them in setting achievable goals for their recovery.
• Implement customized treatment protocols based on evaluation findings and patient presentations, adjusting as necessary in response to healthcare changes.
• Consult with medical professionals and interdisciplinary team members as needed to facilitate comprehensive and coordinated patient care.
• Monitor and document any changes in a patient's condition, modifying treatment plans as warranted and ensuring effective follow-up and discharge planning.
• Maintain accurate and timely patient documentation and billing, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations and standards.
• Exhibit proficient time management skills to meet productivity expectations, while also being an active participant in departmental meetings and community outreach efforts.
• Contribute to achieving departmental goals by adhering to compliance standards and engaging in quality improvement initiatives.
• Take proactive steps toward personal professional development and serve as a mentor for therapy students, guiding them through clinically relevant experiences.
• Promote a positive patient experience and accessibility to care by being flexible and responsive to patient needs.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Our therapists primarily work with a diverse patient population, including individuals recovering from surgery, experiencing chronic pain, or managing disabilities. Our focus is on delivering personalized, evidence-based treatment plans tailored to individual needs, ensuring a compassionate environment that prioritizes patient wellbeing and engagement in the healing process.

Qualifications

• A Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) is required.
• A valid state license to practice as a Physical Therapist in Virginia is mandatory.
• Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers through the American Heart Association.
• A commitment to patient-centered care and continuous learning.

Preferred Experience

• Two years of clinical experience in outpatient rehabilitation is strongly preferred.
• Experience with electronic health records (EHR) systems for documentation and patient management is advantageous.
