Associate General Counsel, Regulatory - Elite Trading Fund

A top-tier global proprietary trading firm is looking to add a Senior Regulatory Counsel to its legal team. Known for its strong market presence and technology-driven approach, the firm deploys its own capital across a wide range of asset classes worldwide. Within its digital assets business, the firm plays a key role in bridging institutional finance and the evolving crypto markets, offering liquidity and trading capabilities across global venues on a continuous basis. This position can be based in Chicago, New York, or Washington, D.C. Key Responsibilities Regulatory Advisory: Serve as a trusted advisor by delivering practical, business-oriented guidance on regulatory requirements impacting trading activities and new initiatives Strategic Partnership: Work closely with senior stakeholders to support expansion into new products, markets, and partnerships across both crypto and traditional finance Cross-Functional Collaboration: Coordinate with internal teams (including trading, tax, finance, and HR) as well as external counsel to execute on complex, multi-jurisdictional projects Regulatory Monitoring & Engagement: Track legal and policy developments and help shape the firm's approach through internal advocacy and external engagement with regulators and industry groups Candidate Profile J.D. and active bar membership in at least one U.S. jurisdiction 5-10 years of relevant experience, ideally focused on financial services regulation Familiarity with regulatory frameworks governing securities, derivatives, and digital assets (e.g., SEC, CFTC, AML regimes) Experience working across both traditional financial products and crypto-related matters Exposure to non-U.S. regulatory environments is advantageous Interest in market structure, policy developments, and regulatory trends is a plus Self-starter with the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-moving environment Strong communication skills and ability to influence stakeholders across functions #J-18808-Ljbffr Larson Maddox
