In this remote role, you will provide specialized telehealth services aimed at supporting individuals facing the impacts of trauma. Work Environment\n

This position is entirely remote, allowing for flexible working conditions whilst still enabling high-quality telehealth services. The clinic’s operational hours are Monday to Friday, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with some flexibility in scheduling to accommodate the diverse needs of our patients. Key Responsibilities\n

As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor at Family Matters Health Care Clinic, your primary responsibilities will include:

• Conducting thorough trauma-informed mental health assessments to evaluate patients' histories and identify specific treatment needs.

• Developing and implementing individualized treatment plans that focus on trauma recovery and resilience-building techniques.
\n
• Utilizing evidence-based therapeutic modalities, including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), to facilitate healing.

• Leading individual and group therapy sessions designed to help clients process their trauma, develop coping strategies, and foster a sense of empowerment.
\n
• Collaborating with psychiatrists and other healthcare professionals to ensure a cohesive care approach for our patients.
\n
• Providing immediate crisis intervention for patients facing trauma-related emergencies.
\n
• Educating patients and their families about trauma responses and available resources for support.
\n
• Maintaining accurate, confidential documentation and clinical records in accordance with legal and ethical standards.

• Participating in case consultations and team meetings to enhance collective knowledge about trauma-informed care.

• Keeping abreast of the latest research and practices in trauma therapy to continuously elevate the quality of care provided.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

The patients you will work with have faced various forms of trauma, ranging from single-incident traumatic events to chronic and complex trauma. They often struggle with PTSD, dissociative disorders, and other trauma-linked emotional and psychological issues. Your role will be instrumental in guiding these individuals toward recovery while addressing their unique needs and fostering a supportive therapeutic relationship.

Qualifications\n

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Current and valid licensure as an LCSW, LPCC, or LMFT in the state of California.
\n
• A strong foundation in trauma-related disorders and treatment modalities, demonstrating a commitment to trauma-informed care.

• Excellent interpersonal skills and a compassionate, non-judgmental approach to therapy.

• The ability to maintain composure and professionalism during high-stress situations.

Preferred Experience\n

In addition to the basic qualifications, candidates with:

• A minimum of 2 years of post-licensure experience in a mental health counseling role, particularly with trauma-focused therapies.
