Key Responsibilities\n

As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, you will have a variety of essential responsibilities:

• Engage actively in clinical consultations and multidisciplinary co-learning groups, sharing insights and improving service delivery.

• Complete all required clinical documentation in a timely manner to align with best practices and regulatory expectations.
\n
• Provide direct services, including detailed behavioral health assessments, tailored counseling sessions, and effective case management for Black birthing families.
\n
• Collaborate closely with prenatal care team members such as physicians, midwives, and doulas to provide integrated, client-centered care.

• Co-facilitate childbirth education and postpartum support groups, working alongside experienced birth workers to enhance community connectedness.
\n
• Participate in community engagement activities aimed at promoting holistic wellness and fostering a supportive village for birthing individuals and their families.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Your primary focus will be on Black birthing families, a demographic that often faces considerable mental health disparities. You will provide culturally sensitive counseling and resources to support their emotional and psychological wellbeing, addressing both immediate concerns and long-term mental health wellness strategies.

Qualifications\n

To succeed in this role, candidates must possess:

• A Master’s degree in one of the behavioral sciences or a related field from an accredited institution.
\n
• A valid California license as either a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC).

• Strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate and collaborate with a diverse, multicultural team and client base.
\n
• The capacity to work efficiently in a dynamic environment and the willingness to seek assistance when faced with challenges.

Preferred Experience\n

While not required, candidates with prior experience in maternal mental health, community health settings, or direct work with birthing families will find this role particularly fulfilling.
