Key Responsibilities\n

As a Virtual Mental Health Counselor, you will be responsible for a variety of tasks that directly impact patient care:

• Conduct comprehensive psychosocial assessments to evaluate the mental health needs and conditions of clients diagnosed with cancer.

• Develop, document, and implement personalized treatment plans, incorporating evidence-based therapies while considering individual patient circumstances, preferences, and cultural contexts.

• Facilitate individual therapy sessions and support group meetings through video conferencing platforms, fostering a safe and open environment for clients to express their feelings and experiences.

• Maintain meticulous client records, including therapy session documentation, treatment plans, and progress notes, ensuring all information is accurate and up-to-date.

• Collaborate with an interprofessional healthcare team, including oncologists and other specialists, to coordinate care and improve patient outcomes.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Your role will focus primarily on serving cancer patients from varied backgrounds and at different stages of their journey. This includes providing support for those recently diagnosed, individuals facing recurrences, end-of-life scenarios, and survivors adjusting to life post-treatment. Your understanding of the emotional and psychological challenges specific to this population will be crucial in delivering impactful counseling.

Qualifications\n

To be successful in this role, you must meet the following qualifications:

• A Master's degree in Counseling, Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, or Mental Health Counseling.

• Active licensure in one of the following: Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), or Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW).

• No history of medical malpractice claims, verified through a third-party background check.
\n
• Authorization to work in the U.S.
\n
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with an ability to establish rapport with diverse clients.

Preferred Experience\n

While not required, candidates with the following experience will be given preference:

Compensation and Benefits\n
