Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough assessments of clients to develop individualized treatment plans tailored to their specific goals.
\n
• Utilize therapeutic methods such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Motivational Interviewing to facilitate effective progress.

• Engage directly with clients in therapy sessions, using empathic listening to foster rapport and provide motivation.
\n
• Conduct psychoeducational support groups related to substance abuse and recovery methodologies.
\n
• Encourage clients to make use of community recovery support resources—such as AA or Smart Recovery—while emphasizing that these should complement, not replace, the therapeutic services we provide.
\n
• Facilitate feedback and information sharing with the Clinical Operations team to continually enhance service delivery and patient outcomes.
\n
• Attend monthly peer group meetings to collaborate and share insights with fellow counselors, aiding professional development.
\n
• Maintain compliance with state regulations and ethical standards applicable to mental health practice.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Your role will primarily involve working with individuals who are seeking to alter their drinking habits. Many of these clients are looking for moderation rather than complete abstinence, and you will utilize a harm-reduction model to tailor your approach according to their expressed needs. Understanding their diverse backgrounds and personal experiences is critical to providing the effective, compassionate care they deserve.

Qualifications\n

• Must hold a valid Washington state license as an Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC).

• A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field is required; further education or specialization is beneficial.

• Experience or training in evidence-based practices including CBT, DBT, and Trauma-Informed Care.

• Strong clinical engagement and communication skills, demonstrating empathy and understanding toward clients.

• A comprehensive understanding of community resources and support systems relevant to substance use recovery.

Preferred Experience\n

• Experience working within a community health clinic environment is advantageous, along with familiarity with remote counseling practices.

• Prior involvement with harm-reduction strategies will help you meet the varied needs of clients seeking moderation in their alcohol consumption.

Compensation and Benefits\n

We offer a competitive annual salary ranging from USD 80,000 to 100,000, complemented by potential bonuses based on performance.
