Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct individual therapy sessions and, when appropriate, group therapy sessions focused on skill development, emotional regulation, and behavior management.

• Facilitate interventions aimed at reducing high-risk behaviors, such as self-injurious behavior (SIB) and physical aggression, through targeted therapeutic techniques.
\n
• Implement strategies to enhance the decision-making abilities of youth and caregivers, providing tools to effectively manage in-home behavioral challenges.
\n
• Collaborate with the Child Family Treatment Team and related professionals, ensuring a multidisciplinary approach to support youth and their families.
\n
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation, including treatment plans, progress notes, and intake assessments as per regulatory requirements.
\n
• Participate in monthly staff meetings and contribute recommendations for the continuous improvement of service delivery.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

The primary focus of this position is to support children aged 3-20 who experience a range of developmental disabilities and intellectual challenges. As a bilingual therapist fluent in Spanish or Portuguese, you will play an essential role in providing culturally competent care, enhancing communication, and fostering a therapeutic bond with families from diverse backgrounds.

Qualifications\n

• A Master's degree in Counseling, Family Therapy, Social Work, or a closely related field is required.

• An active and unrestricted Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) license is mandatory.

• Availability for a minimum of 5-10 hours weekly during after-school hours (4 PM-7 PM) is essential. Flexibility on weekends is a valuable asset.

• Experience in providing positive behavior support strategies is essential to succeed in this role.

Preferred Experience\n

• Demonstrated experience working with children and adolescents, particularly those with intellectual and developmental disabilities, is preferred.

Compensation and Benefits\n
