This role operates within the framework of a Community Health Clinic, primarily through remote therapy sessions that allow for flexibility in treatment delivery. Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct individual in-home therapy sessions or facilitate group therapy sessions, ensuring that each session is tailored to meet the specific needs of clients.

• Implement therapeutic techniques addressing anger management, coping strategies, and social skills while working to diminish high-risk behaviors such as self-injurious behavior (SIB) or physical aggression.
\n
• Assist youth and caretakers in enhancing decision-making skills to effectively manage behavioral challenges faced at home.
\n
• Collaborate with the Child Family Treatment Team and various professionals—including social workers, educators, and medical personnel—to provide a comprehensive support network for each client.
\n
• Submit all required documentation, including intake exams, treatment plans, and progress notes, within designated time frames to ensure compliance and continual improvement of services.
\n
• Participate in monthly team meetings, actively contributing recommendations and insights to improve treatment strategies.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

You will primarily work with a diverse group of children aged 3 to 20 years who face developmental and intellectual disabilities. This role is pivotal in providing support and intervention that enhances their behavioral trajectories, thus improving overall family dynamics and child outcomes. Serving a population in New Jersey, the therapist will navigate various cultural contexts, promoting access to mental health resources for underserved communities.

Qualifications\n

• A Master's degree in Counseling, Family Therapy, Social Work, or a related field is required.

• An active and unrestricted LMFT license is a must.
\n
• Availability for 5-10 hours per week during after-school hours of 4-7 pm, with flexibility on weekends being advantageous.

Preferred Experience\n

• Experience delivering positive behavior support is essential.

• Prior experience working with clients who have intellectual/developmental disabilities is highly preferred.

• A valid driver’s license and access to a registered vehicle are necessary for in-home therapy sessions.

• Candidates must successfully pass a background check, including fingerprinting, prior to employment.

Compensation and Benefits\n
