Key Responsibilities\n

• Facilitate in-home or outpatient therapy sessions for children dealing with emotional or behavioral challenges, ensuring a customized approach for each client.
\n
• Implement therapeutic interventions to promote essential skills such as anger management and coping, focusing on reducing high-risk behaviors like self-injury or aggression.
\n
• Assist in enhancing decision-making skills for both youth and caregivers, equipping families to manage in-home behavioral issues more effectively.
\n
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including Child Family Treatment Team members, to develop and refine strategies that support the child’s therapeutic process.
\n
• Document all therapeutic activities, including intake, treatment plans, and progress notes, adhering to established timelines and protocols.
\n
• Participate in monthly team meetings, where you can contribute insights and recommendations to improve service delivery.
\n

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

This role primarily engages with a diverse group of children and adolescents aged 3-20 who have developmental disabilities and intellectual challenges. You will provide support for their families—primary caregivers who play a pivotal role in their emotional and behavioral development. Your interventions will be vital for promoting growth and stability in these households, aiding resilience in both children and their caregivers.

Qualifications\n

• A Master's degree in Counseling, Family Therapy, or a closely related field is required.
\n
• An active and unrestricted licensure as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) is essential.
\n
• Availability to work at least 5-10 hours per week during after-school hours from 4-7 PM, with weekend flexibility considered a valuable asset.
\n
• A valid driver’s license and access to a registered vehicle for in-home visits.
\n
• Successful completion of a criminal background check, including fingerprinting.
\n

Preferred Experience\n

• Prior experience providing positive behavior support to children facing emotional or behavioral challenges.

• Experience working with children and adolescents with intellectual/developmental disabilities (I/DD) is highly desirable.

Compensation and Benefits\n
