Practical Solutions Counseling is seeking a compassionate and skilled Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) to join our dedicated team. This full-time, remote role will focus on providing intensive in-community therapeutic services aimed at supporting children with developmental disabilities and intellectual challenges. Successful candidates will be expected to work flexible hours, particularly during after-school times, to best support our young clients and their families.

Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct individual and group therapy sessions, utilizing evidence-based approaches to help clients navigate challenges and improve emotional well-being.

• Implement strategies for anger management, social skills development, and coping techniques to address high-risk behaviors, such as self-injurious behavior (SIB) and aggression.
\n
• Guide youth and their caretakers in enhancing decision-making skills to effectively manage in-home behavioral challenges.
\n
• Collaborate with the Child Family Treatment Team, including other interdisciplinary professionals, to ensure cohesive care and optimal outcomes for clients.
\n
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation, including intake forms, treatment plans, and progress notes, in compliance with organizational standards.
\n
• Participate in monthly team meetings, offering insights and recommendations based on clinical experiences with clients.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Your primary focus will be on children and adolescents aged 3-20 who are exhibiting emotional and behavioral difficulties associated with developmental disabilities and intellectual challenges. By providing targeted therapeutic interventions, you will significantly contribute to improving their mental health and overall well-being, allowing them to thrive at home and in their communities.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s degree in Counseling, Family Therapy, or a closely related field is required.

• An active and unrestricted LMFT license is essential to practice in the state of New Jersey.

• A minimum commitment of 5-10 hours per week, primarily scheduled during after-school hours of 4-7 PM, with optional weekend availability.
\n

Preferred Experience\n

• Demonstrated experience in providing positive behavior support for children with complex emotional and behavioral needs.
\n
• Prior experience working with children ages 3-20, particularly those with intellectual or developmental disabilities (I/DD), is highly desirable.

• A valid driver’s license and a dependable vehicle are mandatory for transporting materials and meeting clients in their homes.
\n
• Successful completion of a criminal background check, including fingerprinting, to ensure the safety of all clients.

Compensation and Benefits\n
