Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct individualized in-home or group therapy sessions, adapting therapeutic techniques to meet the unique needs of each client.

• Implement evidence-based practices aimed at improving social skills, anger management, and coping mechanisms to mitigate high-risk behaviors, including self-injurious behaviors (SIB) and physical aggression.
\n
• Support young clients and their caregivers in enhancing decision-making skills to effectively manage behavioral challenges within the home environment.
\n
• Collaborate with the Child Family Treatment Team and communicate regularly with professionals from allied disciplines to provide comprehensive support to families.
\n
• Maintain thorough documentation, including intake assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes, adhering to established timeframes and compliance standards.
\n
• Participate in monthly team meetings, contributing insights and recommendations based on client progress and experiences.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

This role primarily focuses on children aged 3 to 20 who are facing developmental and intellectual disabilities. Our clients often exhibit a range of challenges, including but not limited to developmental delays, social communication difficulties, and emotional regulation issues. The therapist will be a vital resource for both the children and their families, fostering an environment of understanding, patience, and informed support.

Qualifications\n

• Master’s degree in Counseling, Family Therapy, Social Work, or a closely related field.

• Possession of an active and unrestricted LMFT license in the state of New Jersey.
\n
• Availability for a minimum of 5-10 hours per week during after-school hours (4-7 pm), with additional weekend availability considered a plus.

• A valid driver's license and reliable transportation to travel to clients' homes and/or the outpatient center.
\n
• Completion of a criminal background check, including fingerprinting, prior to starting the role.

Preferred Experience\n

• Previous experience providing positive behavior support, ideally with children who have developmental or intellectual disabilities.

• Familiarity with a range of therapeutic modalities and interventions popular in family and youth counseling settings.

• Experience working in a collaborative team environment, particularly with multidisciplinary child treatment teams.

• Bilingual proficiency in Spanish or Portuguese to serve a diverse client population effectively.

Compensation and Benefits\n
