The role is primarily remote, allowing flexibility for therapists to conduct sessions either in clients' homes or at our community health clinic. Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct individual therapy sessions with clients, focusing on developing personalized treatment plans that resonate with their unique needs.

• Assist clients with anger management techniques, coping strategies, and social skills development to promote emotional regulation and interpersonal effectiveness.

• Address high-risk behaviors, such as self-injury and aggression, through evidence-based interventions to ensure safety and well-being.

• Collaborate closely with our Child Family Treatment Team and multidisciplinary professionals to provide holistic care and treatment for clients.

• Document all client interactions, assessment data, treatment plans, and progress notes thoroughly and punctually to maintain high professional standards.

• Engage in regular meetings with the treatment team to discuss case updates, effective strategies, and any necessary recommendations for improvement.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

This role specifically targets children and adolescents between the ages of 3 and 20, particularly those dealing with developmental disabilities and intellectual challenges. Our therapists are expected to utilize culturally sensitive approaches, especially when working with bilingual clients in Spanish or Portuguese, ensuring effective communication and understanding of each child's unique background and challenges.

Qualifications\n

• A Master's degree in Counseling, Family Therapy, Psychology, or a related field is required.

• An active and unrestricted Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) credential is essential.

• Availability for a minimum of 5-10 hours per week during after-school hours, specifically from 4 PM to 7 PM, with flexibility for weekends being a valuable asset.

• Valid driver's license and access to a registered vehicle for travel to client locations.
\n
• Successful completion of a criminal background check, including fingerprinting.

Preferred Experience\n

• Proven experience in providing positive behavior support and specific therapeutic interventions for various behavioral issues.

• Previous experience working directly with children or adolescents who have intellectual or developmental disabilities is highly preferred.

Compensation and Benefits\n
