Work Environment\n

This position is a remote opportunity, which allows for flexibility while working within an outpatient office framework. You will engage virtually with clients through video sessions, as well as participate in collaborative meetings with a diverse team of professionals. The remote setting promotes a healthy work-life balance while you commit to providing essential services to our client families.

Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct individual and group therapy sessions for children in the comfort of their homes and collaborate with clients in our outpatient center.
\n
• Facilitate anger management and coping skills workshops to address high-risk behaviors such as self-injurious behavior (SIB) and physical aggression.
\n
• Enhance decision-making abilities in youth and caregivers to effectively manage behavioral challenges observed in home settings.
\n
• Collaborate with the Child Family Treatment Team, engaging with various disciplines to design holistic treatment plans that support the youth and their families.
\n
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of treatment plans, progress notes, and assessments as required by organizational policies.
\n
• Attend and actively contribute to monthly team meetings and provide insights or recommendations based on ongoing client assessments.
\n

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

You will work predominantly with children and adolescents aged 3-20 who are experiencing developmental disabilities and intellectual challenges. Your expertise will help these clients navigate day-to-day life more effectively while fostering a safe and nurturing environment that promotes mental health and social skills development.

Qualifications\n

• Master's degree in Counseling, Family Therapy, Social Work, or a related field from an accredited institution.
\n
• Active and unrestricted Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) license within the state of New Jersey.
\n
• Availability for a minimum of 5-10 hours per week, particularly after school hours from 4-7 pm, with added flexibility on weekends viewed as a plus.
\n
• Strong understanding of behavioral interventions and positive behavior support strategies.
\n
• Demonstrable experience working directly with children aged 3-20, particularly those with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
\n
• Possession of a valid driver’s license and a reliable, registered vehicle.
\n
• Ability to successfully pass a criminal background check, including fingerprinting requirements.
\n

Preferred Experience\n

• Experience in implementing evidence-based therapeutic interventions specific to children with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
\n
• Background in using cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and family systems therapy approaches.
\n
• Familiarity with documentation standards such as treatment planning and progress note completion.
\n

Compensation and Benefits\n
