Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct individual therapy sessions with clients, either remotely or in their homes, ensuring a safe and nurturing environment for discussions around mental health and behavioral challenges.

• Guide clients through therapeutic interventions that address anger management, coping strategies, and the development of social skills tailored to their specific needs.

• Utilize evidence-based approaches to effectively minimize high-risk behaviors, including self-injurious actions and physical aggression, enhancing clients’ overall well-being.

• Work collaboratively with the Child Family Treatment Team and external specialists to create a cohesive support system aimed at achieving optimal outcomes for clients.

• Ensure timely and accurate documentation of treatment plans, intake assessments, and progress notes, maintaining a high standard of professional accountability.

• Participate in monthly team meetings to discuss client progress and contribute valuable insights for improving program delivery.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist at Wellcure, you will be primarily working with children and adolescents aged 3-20 who face a range of developmental and intellectual disabilities. This role is pivotal, as it involves engaging with families to navigate the complexities of behavioral challenges and mental health issues, fostering effective communication and resilience.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s degree in Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or a closely related field.

• Possession of a valid and unrestricted LMFT license in the state of New Jersey.
\n
• Availability for a minimum of 5-10 hours per week, particularly during after-school hours from 4 PM to 7 PM, with some weekend flexibility preferred.
\n
• Experience providing positive behavior support and a commitment to enhancing the decision-making skills of both clients and their caregivers in managing behavioral issues.
\n
• A valid driver’s license and access to a registered vehicle for home visits, as part of your therapeutic services.
\n
• Passing a comprehensive background check, including fingerprinting, is required as part of our commitment to safeguarding the communities we serve.

Preferred Experience\n

• Demonstrated experience working with children and adolescents with developmental and intellectual disabilities (I/DD).

• Prior therapeutic work that showcases effective interventions in high-risk scenarios, reflecting a sound understanding of behavioral management techniques.

Compensation and Benefits\n
