Key Responsibilities\n

In this role, you will:

• Conduct individual therapy sessions in clients’ homes or collaboratively at our outpatient clinic, ensuring a safe and comforting environment for children and families.

• Utilize evidence-based practices to support children and adolescents in managing behavioral challenges such as anger, emotional distress, and aggression.
\n
• Focus on skill development, empowering both youth and caregivers to make informed decisions regarding behavioral management.
\n
• Collaborate consistently with the Child Family Treatment Team, sharing insights and strategies to align with a holistic approach to treatment.
\n
• Document all client interactions, including intake assessments, treatment plans, and progress reports meticulously, ensuring timeliness and compliance with legal standards.

• Participate in monthly therapy team meetings, offering feedback and recommendations to enrich the therapeutic process.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Our primary focus is on children and adolescents between the ages of 3-20 who are faced with developmental and intellectual disabilities (I/DD). You will provide excited and engaging therapies that cater to the unique needs of this population. Your expertise in bilingual therapy (Spanish or Portuguese) will provide an invaluable asset in expanding access to care for multicultural families, making a significant impact in their lives.

Qualifications\n

To be considered for this position, you should possess:

• A Master’s degree in Counseling, Family Therapy, or a closely related field.
\n
• An active, unrestricted LMFT license in the state of Texas.
\n
• Availability for at least 5-10 hours per week, primarily during after-school hours (4-7 pm), with weekend flexibility preferred.

• A valid driver’s license and access to a registered vehicle for travel to client locations.
\n
• A successful completion of a criminal background check, including fingerprinting.

Preferred Experience\n

While not mandatory, the following experiences are advantageous:

• Experience providing positive behavior support to children and adolescents.

• Previous work with children who have intellectual and developmental disabilities.
