Key Responsibilities\n

• Deliver in-home and group therapy sessions that are tailored to meet the unique needs of children with developmental disabilities, enhancing their emotional and social well-being.

• Conduct specialized therapy targeting coping strategies, anger management, and social skills necessary to reduce high-risk behaviors, including self-injurious behavior (SIB) and physical aggression.
\n
• Engage actively with youth and caregivers to develop decision-making skills, providing guidance on managing behavioral challenges within the home environment.
\n
• Collaborate closely with the Child Family Treatment Team and interdisciplinary professionals to create comprehensive and cohesive treatment plans that support optimal outcomes for families.
\n
• Document all therapeutic sessions accurately within designated timelines, including intake assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes to ensure continuity of care.
\n
• Participate in monthly meetings to discuss progress, share recommendations, and align on strategies for enhanced therapeutic interventions.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

This role focuses on serving a diverse population of children aged 3-20 who have developmental and intellectual disabilities. You will work with families who are navigating various challenges, offering tailored therapeutic interventions to improve their overall functioning and emotional health. Your bilingual skills in Spanish or Portuguese will be invaluable in reaching and effectively communicating with a wider array of families.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s degree in Counseling, Family Therapy, Social Work, or a related field is required.

• An active and unrestricted License as a Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) is essential.
\n
• Availability for a minimum of 5-10 hours per week during after-school hours (4-7 PM) is required; weekend availability is a significant asset.
\n
• Strong foundational knowledge of positive behavior support is critical for success in this position.
\n
• A valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle are necessary for home visits.
\n
• Applicants must be able to pass a criminal background check, including fingerprinting, to ensure the safety of our clients.

Preferred Experience\n

• Prior experience working specifically with children and adolescents with intellectual or developmental disabilities (I/DD) is highly desirable.

• Experience providing family therapy and behavior management techniques will enhance your effectiveness in this role.

• Demonstrated proficiency in delivering culturally competent care, especially for bilingual clients, is a significant advantage.

Compensation and Benefits\n

We offer a competitive salary in the range of USD 60,000 to 80,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Our benefits package includes:
