Work Environment\n

Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct individual in-home therapy sessions and group therapy at the outpatient center, addressing emotional and behavioral challenges faced by children and their families.

• Facilitate anger management, coping strategies, and social skills training to help reduce high-risk behaviors, such as self-injurious behavior (SIB) and physical aggression.
\n
• Support youth and caretakers in enhancing their decision-making skills to effectively manage behavioral challenges within the home environment.
\n
• Work closely with the Child Family Treatment Team and collaborate with other professionals, ensuring a coordinated approach to support.
\n
• Maintain thorough documentation and record-keeping, including intake forms, treatment plans, and progress notes, within designated time frames.
\n
• Participate in monthly team meetings, providing insights and recommendations for ongoing service improvements.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

This role primarily focuses on children and adolescents aged 3-20 who are experiencing developmental disabilities and intellectual challenges. You will work with a diverse population, including bilingual families, providing culturally sensitive and inclusive therapeutic services to help them thrive. Your expertise will be pivotal in shaping positive outcomes for these young individuals and their families.

Qualifications\n

• A Master's degree in Counseling, Family Therapy, or a related field is required.
\n
• Possession of an active and unrestricted Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) license in Arizona.
\n
• Availability to provide services for a minimum of 5-10 hours per week, primarily during after-school hours (4-7 pm) with additional weekend availability preferred.

• A valid driver's license and access to a registered vehicle for travel to client homes and community sessions.
\n
• Must successfully complete a criminal background check, which includes fingerprinting.
\n

Preferred Experience\n

• Previous experience providing positive behavior support and interventions tailored to children.
\n
• Experience working directly with children and teens with intellectual/developmental disabilities is highly desirable.
\n
• Proficiency in both Spanish and Portuguese is a significant advantage, enabling better communication and rapport with a larger client base.

Compensation and Benefits\n
