Home and Community Mental Care, Inc. is seeking dedicated and compassionate Licensed Marriage and Family Therapists (LMFTs) to provide critical mental health support to children and families across Cambridge, Massachusetts, and surrounding areas. This full-time position offers the flexibility of remote work while engaging in intensive therapy sessions for youth experiencing developmental disabilities and related challenges. The role is primarily remote, with the option for some in-person sessions at our outpatient office. Key Responsibilities\n

• Deliver individualized therapy sessions in clients’ homes or in our outpatient clinic, utilizing effective strategies tailored to each child’s unique needs.

• Employ evidence-based therapeutic approaches to help reduce high-risk behaviors, including self-injury and aggression, by implementing anger management techniques and skill-building exercises.

• Work collaboratively with the Child Family Treatment Team and other involved specialists to ensure cohesive care and improved outcomes for clients and their families.

• Document all interactions meticulously, including intake assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes, ensuring timely submission of required documents.

• Facilitate regular team meetings, providing insights and recommendations to further enhance service delivery and therapeutic approaches.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Your primary focus will be on children and adolescents aged 3-20 facing developmental and intellectual disabilities. You will have the opportunity to engage with a diverse array of young clients from various backgrounds, receiving specialized training to address their unique challenges. Your work is crucial in building their coping mechanisms, decision-making skills, and enhancing overall family dynamics.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s degree in Counseling, Family Therapy, Psychology, or a related field is required.

• An active and unrestricted LMFT license is necessary to practice in Massachusetts.

• Availability for a minimum of 5-10 hours weekly during after-school hours (4-7 PM); flexibility for weekend sessions is a significant plus.

• A valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle are essential for traveling to client homes.
\n
• Successful completion of a criminal background check is mandatory, including fingerprinting.

Preferred Experience\n

• Experience in providing positive behavior support and intervention services is highly desirable.

• Prior work with children and adolescents, especially those with intellectual or developmental disabilities, will be beneficial.

• Fluency in Spanish or Portuguese is a plus, as it will allow for more effective communication with our bilingual client base.

Compensation and Benefits\n
