Work Environment\n

This role is unique in that it operates within a remote setting, allowing licensed therapists the flexibility to conduct in-home sessions or group therapy from the comfort of their own environment. As part of our community health clinic, you will have access to collaborative tools and communication platforms designed to enhance coordination with other healthcare professionals who support the same families.

Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct individual therapy sessions in the clients' homes and group therapy at designated outpatient locations, employing evidence-based practices to address specific behavioral challenges.

• Facilitate anger management and coping skills workshops aimed at reducing high-risk behaviors, including self-injurious behaviors (SIB) and physical aggression, through tailored intervention strategies.
\n
• Assist caregivers in enhancing their decision-making skills to effectively manage their children's behavioral issues, providing actionable strategies and ongoing support.
\n
• Engage and collaborate meaningfully with the Child Family Treatment Team, including other mental health professionals, educators, and social workers, to create unified treatment plans.
\n
• Maintain meticulous documentation of all therapy sessions, including intake assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes, ensuring compliance with organizational policies and state regulations.
\n
• Participate in monthly team meetings to discuss client progress and receive supervision and feedback on specific cases, submitting professional recommendations as necessary.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

This role primarily focuses on children and teens between the ages of 3-20 who face developmental disabilities and intellectual/developmental challenges. The therapist will engage with a diverse demographic, providing culturally competent care as we welcome bilingual therapists fluent in Spanish or Portuguese to further enrich our outreach and impact.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s degree in Counseling, Family Therapy, Social Work, or a related field is required.
\n
• An active and unrestricted Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) license.
\n
• Availability to work a minimum of 5-10 hours per week, particularly during after-school hours from 4-7 PM, with some weekend flexibility preferred.

• A valid driver's license and access to a registered vehicle for in-home therapy sessions.
\n
• A successful completion of a criminal background check, including fingerprinting.
\n

Preferred Experience\n

• Experience in providing positive behavior support and previous work with youth, particularly those with intellectual/developmental disabilities, is highly desirable.

• Previous experience in family therapy, group therapy facilitation, and individual counseling for children and adolescents.
\n
