Atlantis Psychotherapy Service is seeking a dedicated Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) to join our dynamic team in providing essential mental health services remotely. This full-time position allows you to work from home while making meaningful impacts in the lives of children and families throughout Dallas, Texas, and beyond. The role focuses on delivering Intensive In-community therapeutic services, primarily to children with Developmental Disabilities and intellectual challenges.

Key Responsibilities\n

As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist at Atlantis Psychotherapy Service, your primary responsibilities will include:

• Conducting individual and group therapy sessions either online or in outpatient settings based on client needs.
\n
• Implementing evidence-based therapeutic interventions aimed at improving children’s emotional regulation and behavioral responses.
\n
• Facilitating skill development in areas such as anger management, coping strategies, and social skills to aid in the reduction of high-risk behaviors, including self-injurious behavior (SIB) and aggression.
\n
• Collaborating consistently with the Child Family Treatment Team and various professionals to create coordinated care plans tailored to individual youth and family needs.
\n
• Completing all necessary documentation, including intake assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes, within stipulated time frames.
\n
• Participating in regular team meetings where you will share insights and provide updates on client progress while contributing to care strategy discussions.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

This role specifically targets children and adolescents aged 3-20 who experience Developmental Disabilities and intellectual challenges. You will support a diverse population, including bilingual clients who speak Spanish or Portuguese, ensuring that language barriers do not impede access to vital mental health services. Your expertise will help children navigate complex emotional landscapes and create a foundation for improved wellbeing and familial relationships.

Qualifications\n

To join our dedicated team, candidates must possess the following qualifications:

• A Master’s degree in Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or a closely related field.
\n
• An active and unrestricted Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) license in Texas.
\n
• Availability for a minimum of 5-10 hours per week during after-school hours of 4-7 pm; weekend flexibility is preferred.
\n
• A valid driver’s license and access to a registered vehicle for any in-home sessions may be required.
\n
• Ability to pass a criminal background check, inclusive of fingerprinting.
\n

Preferred Experience\n

The ideal candidate will have prior experience working with children and adolescents, particularly those with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD). Familiarity with providing positive behavior support and demonstrating effective crisis intervention skills will be an advantage in successfully navigating client needs. Bilingual capabilities in Spanish or Portuguese will enhance communication with select families and improve service delivery effectiveness.
