This position offers the flexibility of remote work while participating in a collaborative care model. Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct individual and family therapy sessions either remotely or in-home, utilizing evidence-based interventions tailored to the unique needs of each client.

• Utilize therapeutic techniques to help reduce high-risk behaviors, such as self-injurious behavior (SIB) and physical aggression, by teaching essential skills in anger management, coping strategies, and social interactions.
\n
• Assist clients and their caregivers in enhancing decision-making skills that positively address behavioral challenges occurring in the home environment.
\n
• Work collaboratively with a Child and Family Treatment Team, or similar interdisciplinary teams, to coordinate care and recommend interventions that best serve the child and their family.
\n
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of client interactions, including intake reports, treatment plans, and progress notes, complying with organizational standards and state regulations.
\n
• Participate in ongoing training sessions and professional development to stay current with best practices and emerging trends in mental health treatment.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

This role specifically targets children and adolescents aged 3-20 years who have been diagnosed with developmental disabilities and intellectual challenges. The LMFT will work with a diverse clientele, including those from bilingual backgrounds, necessitating sensitivity and awareness of cultural nuances that impact mental health and therapy outcomes.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s degree in Counseling, Family Therapy, Social Work, or a related field is required.
\n
• Must hold an active and unrestricted LMFT license in the state of Tennessee.
\n
• Availability to provide services a minimum of 5-10 hours a week, primarily during after-school hours (4-7 PM), with some weekend flexibility preferred.
\n
• A valid driver’s license and access to a registered vehicle are essential for conducting in-home therapy sessions.
\n
• The candidate must successfully pass a comprehensive criminal background check, including fingerprinting.

Preferred Experience\n

• Experience providing positive behavior support strategies is highly desirable.
\n
• Prior experience working with children with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) is a strong plus.
\n
• Experience in bilingual therapy and engaging with multicultural communities will enhance the therapeutic relationship and effectiveness.

Compensation and Benefits\n
