Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct individual in-home therapy sessions or lead group therapy sessions at our outpatient center, fostering a safe and supportive environment for clients.

• Provide targeted interventions including anger management and social skills training, aimed at reducing high-risk behaviors such as self-injurious behavior (SIB) and physical aggression.
\n
• Support youths and their caregivers in enhancing decision-making skills to improve management of in-home behavioral challenges.
\n
• Actively collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, ensuring consistent communication and effective strategies to support youth and family needs.
\n
• Maintain timely documentation, including intake assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes, to comply with clinical best practices.
\n
• Participate in monthly team meetings, offering recommendations and insights for continuous improvement in our service delivery.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

This role primarily focuses on children and adolescents aged 3-20 who are confronted with developmental disabilities and intellectual challenges. You will have the opportunity to work with a diverse cross-section of families, addressing unique challenges that each child presents. This role is essential in empowering youth and families by providing them with the tools they need to navigate their circumstances effectively.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s degree in Counseling, Family Therapy, Social Work, or a related field is required.
\n
• An active and unrestricted LMFT license is mandatory.
\n
• Availability for a minimum of 5-10 hours per week during after-school hours, typically between 4 PM to 7 PM. Flexibility on weekends is considered a plus.
\n
• A valid driver’s license and access to a registered vehicle are required for home visits.
\n
• Successful completion of a criminal background check, including fingerprinting, is mandatory for this position.

Preferred Experience\n

• Experience in offering positive behavior support strategies and interventions.
\n
• Previous work experience with children aged 3-20, particularly those diagnosed with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD).

• Familiarity with bilingual therapy (Spanish or Portuguese) is highly desirable and considered a significant asset.
