The nature of our services means that you will primarily engage with families in community settings, which may vary from homes to outpatient centers. Our collaborative approach involves working alongside other professionals in the Child Family Treatment Team, ensuring a holistic support system for our clients.

Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct in-home therapy sessions as well as group therapy in our outpatient center, addressing the unique needs of each child and family.

• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans that incorporate evidence-based practices to promote emotional regulation, anger management, and the development of social skills.
\n
• Work collaboratively with caregivers to improve their strategies for managing behavioral challenges and enhancing decision-making skills within the family unit.
\n
• Maintain consistent communication with the Child Family Treatment Team to ensure that all members are aligned in their approach to supporting each child and family.
\n
• Complete and submit all necessary documentation, including intake forms, treatment plans, and progress notes within set timeframes to ensure compliance with organizational standards.

• Participate in monthly staff meetings to discuss case updates, make recommendations, and engage in continued learning with peers.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

You will work with a diverse population of children aged 3 to 20 years, primarily focusing on those with developmental and intellectual disabilities. Your role will be instrumental in providing tailored therapeutic interventions that support the unique needs of each child, allowing them to thrive in their environments. Qualifications\n

• A Master’s degree in Counseling, Family Therapy, or a related field is required.

• An active and unrestricted LMFT license in the state of New York.
\n
• Availability for a minimum of 5-10 hours per week during after-school hours, specifically from 4 PM - 7 PM, with additional weekend availability considered beneficial.

• Proven experience in providing positive behavior support, focusing on effective interventions for children.
\n
• A valid driver’s license and access to a registered vehicle are mandatory for in-home visits.
\n
• Successful completion of a criminal background check, inclusive of fingerprinting, is required.
\n

Preferred Experience\n

• Experience working with children who have intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) is highly desirable.

• Familiarity with techniques for facilitating family engagement and promoting caregiver skills is a plus.

• Fluency in Spanish or Portuguese is preferred, as it enhances communication with a broader client base.

Compensation and Benefits\n
