The Healthy Mind and Wellness Counseling Clinic is seeking a passionate and flexible Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) to join our dedicated team. This full-time, remote position offers a unique opportunity to provide crucial support and therapeutic services to children and youth, primarily in-home. Work Environment\n

As a therapist at our community health clinic located in Edison, New Jersey, you will primarily engage in remote therapy sessions, allowing flexibility in your work schedule while maintaining a strong connection with families through virtual means. The role requires a commitment to deliver services primarily during after-school hours (4-7 PM) to best accommodate the needs of our clients, with additional weekend availability desired.

Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct individual or group therapy sessions focused on behavioral interventions, improving coping skills, and navigating social interactions within the family environment.

• Implement therapeutic techniques aimed at reducing high-risk behaviors, including self-injurious behaviors (SIB) and physical aggression, collaborating with caretakers to enhance their management skills.

• Collaborate effectively with the Child Family Treatment Team and other multidisciplinary professionals to coordinate a comprehensive treatment approach, ensuring all aspects of the child's needs are addressed.
\n
• Maintain timely and accurate documentation of therapy sessions, including intake assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes, adhering to clinic policies and regulatory standards.

• Engage in regular team meetings to share insights, strategies, and make recommendations that align with our therapeutic objectives and support client outcomes.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

You will be primarily working with children and teens aged 3 to 20 years who have various developmental and intellectual disabilities. This role involves providing therapeutic support to these individuals while also focusing on empowering their families. You will be instrumental in fostering a supportive atmosphere that encourages growth and development, while addressing behavioral challenges that may arise in the home environment.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s degree in Counseling, Family Therapy, or a closely related field is required.

• Possession of an active and unrestricted LMFT license.
\n
• Availability for at least 5-10 hours of work per week during late afternoon and evening hours.
\n
• Demonstrated experience in providing positive behavior support is essential.

• A valid driver’s license and a reliable vehicle are required for occasional in-person client meetings.
\n
• Successful completion of a criminal background check, including fingerprinting, is mandatory for employment.

Preferred Experience\n

• Prior experience working with children aged 3-20 with I/DD is highly preferred.

• Fluency in Spanish or Portuguese is a significant asset, enhancing our ability to connect with a diverse client base.

• Experience in community health settings or outpatient facilities will be an advantage.

Compensation and Benefits\n
