Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough mental health assessments to understand individual needs and challenges faced by each child or adolescent.

• Develop and execute personalized treatment plans that account for the developmental stages and unique family dynamics of clients.

• Utilize evidence-based therapeutic interventions, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and play therapy, to effectively address mental health issues.

• Facilitate family therapy sessions aimed at enhancing communication and support within families.
\n
• Collaborate closely with child psychiatrists and other professionals to ensure a coordinated, holistic approach to care.

• Provide crisis intervention and support services during acute mental health emergencies involving young clients.

• Offer psychoeducation to patients and families about mental health conditions, available treatment options, and community resources.

• Maintain meticulous and confidential documentation in compliance with legal and ethical standards.

• Engage actively in team meetings and case consultations to promote shared learning and best practices.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

This role primarily focuses on children and adolescents facing diverse mental health concerns such as anxiety, depression, ADHD, and behavioral disorders. As a mental health counselor, you will play a critical role in supporting young individuals through difficult challenges and helping them develop coping strategies for lifelong mental wellness.

Qualifications\n

• A master's or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Active and valid license as an LCSW, LCSW-R, LMHC, or LMFT within the state of New York.
\n
• Minimum two years of post-licensure experience in mental health counseling, with preference given to those working with children and adolescents.

• Strong understanding of child and adolescent developmental stages and associated mental health disorders.

• Proficiency in delivering both individual and family therapy, adapting techniques to meet the needs of young individuals.

• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, along with a compassionate, child-centered approach to therapy.

• Experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems and relevant documentation practices.

• Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team and contribute positively to a collaborative environment.

Compensation and Benefits\n
