Work Environment\n

This position is fully remote, allowing licensed mental health counselors to effectively serve clients from the comfort of their own homes or designated workspace. The role requires strong self-management and organizational skills to ensure timely client evaluations, therapeutic sessions, and documentation while promoting a productive work-life balance. You will collaborate closely with a team of other healthcare professionals, including psychiatrists, medical doctors, and social workers, ensuring a multidisciplinary approach to client care.

Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct comprehensive initial consultations, including preliminary interviews and thorough documentation, from client onboarding through treatment conclusion.

• Evaluate clients’ emotional, behavioral, and psychological health, identifying their individual needs and formulating effective treatment plans tailored to each client’s situation.

• Develop and implement evidence-based intervention strategies for a wide range of client scenarios, fostering environments suitable for both individual and group therapy sessions.
\n
• Regularly monitor and assess client progress throughout their treatment journey, adjusting intervention plans as necessary to ensure optimal recovery outcomes.
\n
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to create cohesive intervention plans that address each client’s unique challenges.
\n
• Provide follow-up care for clients who have been hospitalized, maintaining communication with other healthcare providers to ensure continuity in treatment and recovery.

• Detect and mitigate behaviors that may hinder recovery, thereby enhancing overall treatment effectiveness.

• Assist clients' family members and primary caregivers by providing guidance and resources to manage associated mental and behavioral challenges.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

This role encompasses working with a diverse array of clients, including individuals, couples, families, and groups dealing with mental health disorders such as anxiety, depression, trauma, and addiction. Counselors are expected to utilize their clinical acumen to provide culturally competent care that respects the values and beliefs of every client.

Qualifications\n

• A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Social Work, Psychology, Mental Health Counseling, or Marriage and Family Therapy from an accredited institution is required.

• A valid and current professional license in the state of Maryland as an LCMFT, LMFT, LCPC, or LCSW-C is mandatory.

• Successful completion of the National Counselor Examination (NCE) and/or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE) is required.

• Candidates must demonstrate previous experience working in a clinical mental health counseling role, showcasing their ability to manage diverse client needs effectively.

Preferred Experience\n

• Proficiency in utilizing electronic health record systems, specifically experience with AVATAR or similar platforms for documenting client interactions and treatment plans.

• Knowledgeable in underlying physical health conditions and their emotional impacts, as well as familiarity with addiction-related disorders.

• Expertise in the current guidelines and best practices established by the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA).

• Understanding the effects and implications of medications prescribed by healthcare professionals on clients' mental health.
\n
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, facilitating effective interaction with clients and colleagues.
\n
• Demonstrated exceptional interpersonal skills and an empathetic approach in client interactions.

Compensation and Benefits\n

Wise Recovery Counseling Center offers a competitive yearly salary ranging from USD 80,000 to 100,000, reflecting the valuable skills you bring to our organization.
