Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct comprehensive mental health evaluations through preliminary interviews, documenting each client’s journey from initial consultation to discharge.

• Develop individualized treatment and intervention plans that address the unique needs of clients, utilizing evidence-based practices.
\n
• Facilitate individual and group therapy sessions that promote healing and recovery, fostering an environment of trust and support.
\n
• Monitor and document client progress throughout treatment, adjusting plans as necessary to ensure optimal outcomes.
\n
• Collaborate closely with a team of healthcare professionals, including psychiatrists, nurses, and social workers, to ensure integrated care.

• Assess risk factors and implement strategies to identify and mitigate behaviors that can obstruct recovery.
\n
• Support families and primary caregivers in understanding and managing mental health issues, thereby enhancing the overall support system for clients.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

As a core member of our team, you will work with a diverse clientele, including individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, and relationship issues as well as those dealing with addiction. You will be instrumental in promoting mental wellness in the Scranton, Pennsylvania area, applying culturally competent practices tailored to meet the needs of our community.

Qualifications\n

• A Master's or Doctorate degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Current and valid licensure as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in Pennsylvania.

• A successful completion of the National Counselor Examination (NCE) and/or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).
\n
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with clients and colleagues, showcasing superior written and verbal skills.

• Proficiency in using electronic health record systems, particularly with an emphasis on AVATAR.
\n

Preferred Experience\n

• A minimum of two years of direct experience as a mental health counselor, with a strong track record of successful patient outcomes.

• Experience in managing complex client cases involving co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders.
\n
• Familiarity with the guidelines set by the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA) and the implications in practice.
\n
• Knowledge of pharmacological interventions and effects, particularly medications prescribed by other healthcare professionals.

• Empathy and interpersonal skills that resonate with clients from various backgrounds and experiences.

Compensation and Benefits\n

This position offers an annual salary ranging from USD 80,000 to 100,000, depending on experience and credentials, along with a sign-on bonus.
