Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct in-depth initial consultations that allow for a comprehensive understanding of the client's mental, behavioral, and emotional health.

• Document and manage case files through the entire treatment process utilizing electronic health record systems such as AVATAR.
\n
• Develop and implement personalized intervention and recovery plans for clients, factoring in their specific emotional and situational contexts.
\n
• Facilitate regular individual and group therapy sessions, utilizing evidence-based practices to engage clients effectively.

• Monitor and assess client progress throughout their treatment journey, adjusting plans as necessary to ensure optimal outcomes.

• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including psychiatrists, social workers, and nurses, to coordinate comprehensive care and interventions.

• Engage with family members and caregivers, providing them tools and strategies to support their loved ones coping with mental health challenges.

• Stay informed about developments in psychotherapy and utilize these insights to support clients' therapeutic progress.

The clients at Hillside Behavioral Health Center encompass a wide range of backgrounds and mental health conditions, from anxiety and depression to more complex dual diagnoses involving substance use disorders. You will work closely with a diverse array of individuals, couples, families, and groups, customizing your approach to suit their distinct therapeutic needs and preferences. Qualifications\n

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Current and valid state licensure as an LMFT, LPC, or LCSW.
\n
• Successful completion of the National Counselor Examination (NCE) or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills paired with strong interpersonal abilities; an empathetic approach to client interactions is essential.

Preferred Experience\n

• Previous experience working as a mental health counselor, particularly in an outpatient setting.

• Comfort with and proficiency in electronic health records management, especially familiarity with systems such as AVATAR.

• Experience in addressing co-occurring disorders, including addiction and related emotional health issues.

• Understanding of the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA) best practices.
