Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough initial assessments and documentation for each client, ensuring detailed records from the first consultation through the completion of their treatment journey.

• Evaluate clients’ mental, emotional, and behavioral health to inform the development of tailored intervention and recovery plans appropriate for individuals, couples, families, and groups.

• Facilitate engaging individual and group therapy sessions, utilizing evidence-based therapeutic techniques to foster healing and personal growth.

• Maintain ongoing monitoring of clients' progress throughout their treatment plans, making necessary adjustments to interventions based on their evolving needs.

• Collaborate with a team of mental health specialists, physicians, and nurses to ensure comprehensive and cohesive care for each client.

• Follow up with psychiatrists and other medical professionals regarding clients who may require hospital admission, ensuring continuity of care.

• Identify and address behaviors that may hinder recovery, employing strategies to mitigate these challenges.

• Provide guidance and support to family members and primary caregivers, equipping them with tools to assist in managing mental health challenges.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

As a Mental Health Counselor at Ultimate Support Counseling Center, you will work with a diverse client population from various socioeconomic backgrounds. Our clients may present with an array of challenges, including anxiety, depression, trauma, and substance use disorders. You will be expected to employ culturally responsive practices to address the unique experiences and needs of each client. Qualifications\n

• A master’s or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Current and valid licensure as an LMFT, LPC, or LCSW in the state of New Jersey.

• A passing score on the National Counselor Examination (NCE) and/or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex concepts in an accessible manner.

• Exceptional interpersonal skills, demonstrating empathy and a compassionate approach to client interactions.

Preferred Experience\n

• Previous experience working as a mental health counselor, ideally within a community health setting, enhancing your familiarity with diverse client needs.

• Proficiency in using electronic health record systems such as AVATAR to manage documentation and improve workflows efficiently.

• Experience in addressing co-occurring physical health and emotional disorders, with a thorough understanding of addiction and recovery processes.

• Knowledge of the best practices outlined by the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA) to enhance service delivery.

• In-depth understanding of the pharmacological treatments provided by specialists for mental health disorders.

Compensation and Benefits\n

The salary for this position ranges from $80,000 to $100,000 per year, commensurate with experience, and includes an enticing sign-on bonus.
