Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Make a difference every day as a Special Education Teacher, working with middle school students in a supportive, self-contained classroom setting. Be part of a collaborative team dedicated to helping students with mild to moderate disabilities reach their full potential throughout the school year, from August 13, 2026 to June 3, 2027. This is a full-time, contract opportunity (Monday through Friday, 7:15am – 3:15pm), working 37.5 hours each week.

Desired Qualifications & Skills:

• Current special education teaching certification (or eligibility for certification)
• Previous experience teaching middle school students with mild to moderate disabilities in a self-contained setting
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with general education teachers, related service providers, and families
• Effective classroom management strategies to foster positive, safe learning environments
• Ability to adapt curriculum and instruction to meet diverse learning needs
• Passion for advocacy, inclusion, and student empowerment

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver individualized instruction to a caseload of 12 students in a self-contained middle school classroom
• Develop and implement IEPs, monitor student progress, and maintain accurate records in compliance with state and federal special education guidelines
• Partner with support staff to provide targeted interventions, behavioral supports, and life skills instruction
• Collaborate with families and multidisciplinary teams to ensure students’ success both academically and socially
• Participate in professional development and school meetings to stay current with best practices
