This full-time opportunity runs from August 13, 2026, through June 3, 2027, and offers the chance to work a steady Monday through Friday schedule, 7:15 am to 3:15 pm, at a reputable district near Norlina, NC. You'll make a direct impact on the lives of your students, guiding a manageable caseload of 12 and collaborating within a dedicated educational team.

Desired Experience & Qualifications:

• Active certification as a Special Education Teacher (or eligibility for certification in North Carolina)
• Experience working with middle school students, particularly those with mild to moderate disabilities in self-contained settings
• Strong grasp of IEP development, progress monitoring, and implementation of differentiated instruction
• Effective communication skills for collaborating with families, specialists, and general education staff
• Ability to create engaging, supportive classroom environments and manage behavioral plans
• Flexibility and adaptability to meet diverse student needs
• Commitment to fostering an inclusive, positive learning atmosphere

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored for each student
• Deliver direct instruction aligned with students’ abilities and learning goals
• Maintain accurate records, monitor progress, and adapt strategies as needed
• Work collaboratively with co-teachers, paraeducators, and specialists to maximize student success
• Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student progress
• Support students’ social, emotional, and academic development
