Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Inspire and support young learners by making a difference as a Special Education Teacher at the middle school level. This full-time, contract opportunity is designed for dedicated professionals passionate about empowering students with mild to moderate disabilities in a supportive, structured environment. Located near Henderson, NC, this role features a consistent weekday schedule from 7:15 am to 3:15 pm, ensuring both work-life balance and ongoing engagement with your students.

Key Qualifications:
• Valid state certification in Special Education (or eligibility to obtain)
• Bachelor’s degree (minimum) in Special Education or related field
• Experience teaching in a self-contained classroom, preferably with middle school students
• Strong knowledge of best practices for supporting mild/moderate disabilities
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills for working with students, families, and team members
• Ability to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
• Passion for creating a positive, inclusive classroom culture

Primary Responsibilities:
• Lead a classroom of up to 12 middle school students with mild to moderate disabilities in a self-contained setting
• Design, modify, and deliver lessons aligned with IEP goals
• Administer assessments to monitor student growth and adjust instruction as needed
• Foster social and academic development through tailored instructional strategies
• Communicate regularly with families and collaborate with paraprofessionals and specialists
• Maintain classroom management and compliance with all state/regulatory requirements

This is a contract position running from August 13, 2026, through June 3, 2027, with a full-time, M-F schedule (37.5 hours per week).
