Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough mental health evaluations to understand clients' emotional and psychological needs, documenting each step meticulously from initial intake interviews through to the conclusion of treatment.

• Formulate and implement personalized treatment plans that align with clients’ goals, taking into consideration their unique backgrounds and experiences.

• Facilitate both individual and group therapy sessions that incorporate therapeutic modalities suited to each client's circumstances, ensuring they feel heard, respected, and supported.

• Continuously monitor client progress throughout the treatment journey, adjusting plans as necessary to meet evolving needs or challenges.

• Work collaboratively with psychiatrists, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to create cohesive intervention plans, particularly for clients transitioning to or from hospital care.

• Proactively identify behavioral patterns that may hinder recovery and develop proactive strategies to address them.

• Support family members and caregivers in understanding mental health challenges, equipping them with tools to assist their loved ones in the recovery process.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

The clients you will serve come from diverse backgrounds and present a range of mental health issues, including anxiety, depression, trauma, and substance use disorders. Understanding the unique needs of individuals, couples, and families will be crucial in your role, as therapeutic interventions will be tailored to suit each client’s situation. Qualifications\n

• A Master's or Doctoral degree in a relevant field such as Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Valid licensure as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in New Jersey.

• A passing score on the National Counselor Examination (NCE) or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).
\n
• Strong foundational knowledge in mental health principles, with the ability to apply them in a clinical setting.

• Proficiency with electronic health record systems, preferably AVATAR, to maintain accurate and up-to-date client documentation.

Preferred Experience\n

• A minimum of two years of experience providing mental health counseling in outpatient settings, demonstrating a proven track record of successful client outcomes.

• Experience in treating co-occurring mental health and addiction disorders.
\n
• Familiarity with best practices outlined by the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA).

• In-depth understanding of psychopharmacology and its role in therapy.

• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with an ability to build rapport and establish trust quickly.
