About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Progressive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in PCU required. License: Valid nursing license required. Certifications: ACLS and BCLS certifications required. Must-Have: Previous travel nursing experience preferred. Description: Provide care to patients within the Progressive Care Unit. Maintain a patient ratio of approximately 1 nurse to 5 patients. Utilize skills in IV starts and telemetry monitoring. Familiarity with an electronic medical records system for documentation is required. Schedule includes weekdays with occasional weekends and rotating holidays. Must be willing to float within units of equivalent or lower acuity. This position offers a dynamic schedule with the opportunity to work in a challenging and rewarding environment. Patient diagnoses may include kidney transplants, liver transplants, infections, and uncontrolled diabetes. Special procedures may include kidney biopsy recovery and paracentesis. Interdisciplinary support includes physical therapy, respiratory services, and pharmacy. Expectations include managing dysrhythmias and telemetry monitoring. Candidates must be compliant with the fingerprinting process. Two professional references are required, with at least one from a manager or supervisor. Candidates must have completed education from an accredited program.
