Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: PCU Float Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Hours (19:00 - 07:30) Experience: 2 Years Required License: Valid State License Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: - Previous charge experience preferred - Telemetry experience required - IV start experience required Description: The role involves working in a float pool within step-down and PCU areas. There is a potential to float to other campuses as needed. Candidates may be required to float within units of equivalent or lower acuity. Estimated patient ratios are 1:3 to 4. Responsibilities include managing a diverse patient population, including adults and geriatrics. Nurses will be expected to provide care for step-down and PCU-type patients. Skills required include procedural sedation administration/monitoring, telemetry, and interpretation of dysrhythmias. Patients may require management of various conditions, including renal failure and post-operative care. Additional responsibilities involve central line care, blood product administration, and phlebotomy. Nurses will also be involved in pre/post-hemodialysis management and care for patients on high flow nasal cannula. The ideal candidate will effectively communicate with interdisciplinary teams, including physical therapy and pharmacy. Candidates must be willing to adhere to all credentialing and compliance requirements promptly.
