Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough mental health assessments for patients in hospice care, analyzing their personal backgrounds, current emotional status, and any psychological distress they may be experiencing.

• Implement evidence-based therapeutic modalities, such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and solution-focused therapy, to support patients as they navigate the complexities of life-limiting conditions.

• Facilitate individual and group therapy sessions aimed at enhancing emotional resilience, supporting grief processing, and encouraging meaningful conversations among families.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

The primary focus of the Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker in our nonprofit hospice center is to serve patients and families facing terminal illnesses. This includes working with a diverse range of clients from various backgrounds, experiencing significantly challenging emotional and psychological processes. The demographic may include elderly patients, younger individuals with sudden diagnoses, and families grappling with grief and anxiety, necessitating a sensitive and compassionate approach to mental health care.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s degree in Social Work from an accredited program.

• Current and valid LICSW licensure in the state of Washington.

• A minimum of two years of post-licensure experience, particularly in settings that address mental health needs or end-of-life care.

Preferred Experience\n
