Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, 6:45 PM - 7:15 AM; 36 or 48-hour contracts available; every other weekend required

Highlights:

• Contract lengths available from 13 to 26 weeks with flexible weekly hour options
• Patient ratio of 1:6 on a 36-bed Medical-Surgical Telemetry unit
• Epic charting system with 24 hours of paid orientation
• Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including respiratory services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and physical therapy
• Diverse patient case mix including cardiac monitoring, post-surgical care, renal failure, diabetes management, and wound care
• No call required; maximum of 7 days RTO per contract

Requirements:

• Current RN license (North Carolina or Compact state license accepted)
• BLS and NIHSS certifications required; ACLS preferred
• Minimum 2 years of Medical-Surgical and Telemetry nursing experience required
• Charge nurse experience preferred
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start date
• Proficiency in telemetry monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and IV therapy
• Experience with central lines, PICC lines, wound care, chest tubes, respiratory support (BiPAP/CPAP, high flow nasal cannula), and medication administration including heparin, insulin, and PCA
• Willingness to float to other Medical-Surgical units as needed
• Ability to work holidays as required (must work 2 of 3 major holidays)
• Flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions considered)

Additional Information:

• Floating may be required to other units, including a campus location approximately 30 minutes away
• Contract staff will be assigned to Storm Team/Hurricane Team and may be required to report during catastrophic events or disasters

• Pre-start online modules (approximately 8-10 hours) must be completed using Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge
• Weekend block scheduling (Friday through Monday) may be accommodated; other block scheduling requests not accepted
