Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive evaluations to assess patients' physical abilities, limitations, and potential for improvement, tailoring treatment plans to individual needs.
• Direct and implement physical therapy interventions aimed at restoring function, reducing pain, and preventing disability, in line with physician-prescribed plans of care.
• Supervise and guide physical therapy assistants in delivering exemplary care while ensuring adherence to established protocols and performance standards.
• Design and instruct rehabilitative exercise programs, including manual therapy techniques, therapeutic exercises, and the use of physical agents like traction and electrical stimulation.
• Evaluate clients' home environments to make recommendations that enhance their independence and safety during the rehabilitation process.
• Document all patient interactions meticulously, including initial evaluations, progress notes, and discharge summaries, to maintain accurate clinical records.
• Engage in multidisciplinary case conferences to collaboratively devise and assess comprehensive treatment plans.
• Instruct clients and their families on proper techniques for using physical therapy devices and integrating their therapy program into daily activities.
• Maintain open communication with physicians, case managers, and other healthcare providers for coordinated care management.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of clinical practices through active participation in professional development opportunities, including workshops and seminars.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Our orthopedic physical therapist will primarily work with adult and geriatric patients who have sustained injuries, undergone surgeries, or are living with chronic conditions affecting their orthopedic health. These include but are not limited to joint replacements, fractures, and sports injuries. Our approach is holistic, ensuring that we assess and address not just the physical aspects but also the emotional and psychological factors involved in the recovery process.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program.
• A minimum of one year of professional experience in an orthopedic or rehabilitation setting, demonstrating proficiency in delivering patient care.
• Current, valid physical therapy licensure in the state of Virginia, with a clean standing status.
• Certification in CPR to ensure readiness for emergency situations.

Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive annual salary range of USD 100,000 – 120,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
