Work Environment\n

This position allows for flexibility as it operates primarily in a remote setting, reducing commuting time while allowing for an engaging work-life balance. Nevertheless, you will be part of a vibrant and collaborative team, participating in regular meetings and case consultations via virtual platforms. The work schedule typically runs Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with occasional evening shifts based on patient needs.

Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough assessments to evaluate the mental health needs of children and adolescents, taking into account their developmental stages and family dynamics.

• Design and implement individualized treatment plans that reflect evidence-based practices to effectively address a spectrum of mental health conditions.

• Deliver therapeutic interventions across a variety of modalities, including individual and family therapy, adapting techniques to suit the unique challenges faced by each patient.

• Facilitate family therapy sessions to assist caregivers and parents in fostering a nurturing environment conducive to healing.

• Collaborate with child psychiatrists and multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive and coordinated care that promotes optimal patient outcomes.

• Provide crisis intervention during mental health emergencies, guiding families and children through immediate psychosocial challenges.

• Educate patients and their families about mental health conditions, available treatment options, and appropriate community resources, enhancing their capacity for informed decision-making.

• Maintain accurate, confidential documentation in accordance with legal and ethical standards, ensuring proper record-keeping and compliance.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

As a Mental Health Therapist at Insightful Journeys Counseling Center, you will primarily serve children and adolescents dealing with issues such as anxiety, depression, ADHD, and behavioral disorders. You will collaborate with families to create supportive environments that proactively address mental health challenges, ensuring that each patient's voice is heard and valued.

Qualifications\n

• A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Current and valid licensure as an LCSW, LPC, or LMFT in the state of New Jersey.
\n
• In-depth knowledge of child and adolescent mental health disorders, evidenced through professional experience and education.
\n
• Proven ability to deliver effective individual and family therapy, demonstrating empathy and understanding of diverse backgrounds.
\n
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, facilitating rapport with children, adolescents, and their families.
\n
• Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems and general computer applications to streamline patient management.
\n
• Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team, valuing the input and expertise of colleagues.

Preferred Experience\n

In addition to the required qualifications, candidates with a minimum of two years’ experience in mental health counseling, particularly within child and adolescent psychiatry, will be given preference. Experience collaborating with primary care physicians and community organizations is also advantageous.

Compensation and Benefits\n
