As a member of our team, you will primarily work remotely, with opportunities to conduct therapy sessions from our outpatient office in San Jose, California. Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct individual and family therapy sessions in both in-home and outpatient settings, utilizing evidence-based therapeutic techniques that promote emotional well-being.

• Implement targeted interventions focusing on anger management, coping strategies, and social skills development aimed at decreasing high-risk behaviors, such as self-injurious behavior (SIB) and physical aggression.

• Assist families in enhancing decision-making skills to effectively manage behavioral challenges within the home, ensuring each session is client-centered and adaptable to their needs.

• Collaborate with the Child Family Treatment Team and other professionals to coordinate care, share insights and ensure a holistic approach in supporting the child's mental health and development.

• Accurately document all relevant therapeutic activities within specified timelines, including intake assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes, upholding the highest standards of confidentiality and compliance.

• Participate in monthly case consultations and staff meetings, contributing insights and recommendations to improve care delivery tailored to our clients.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

This role will focus on providing therapeutic services to children and adolescents aged 3 to 20 years experiencing developmental and intellectual disabilities. Your work will involve engaging with families from various backgrounds and cultures, charting a path toward improved mental health outcomes and greater emotional resilience. By providing culturally and contextually relevant therapy, you will play a pivotal role in shaping each child’s journey toward better mental health.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s degree in Counseling, Family Therapy, or a related field is required.

• An active and unrestricted LMFT license in the state of California is mandatory.

• Availability for at least 5-10 hours per week during after-school hours (4-7 PM) is essential, with flexibility for weekend hours being advantageous.

• A valid driver’s license and access to a registered vehicle are required to facilitate any necessary in-home sessions.

• Successful completion of a criminal background check, including fingerprinting, is a prerequisite for employment.

Preferred Experience\n

• Experience providing positive behavior support, especially in working with children with intellectual/developmental disabilities, is highly valued.
