Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify and evaluate the severity of mood disorder symptoms in clients, using standardized diagnostic tools and personal interviews.

• Develop customized treatment plans in collaboration with clients that address specific needs, goals, and strengths, ensuring an individualized approach to care.

• Utilize evidence-based therapeutic methodologies, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), to facilitate meaningful healing processes for each client.

• Educate clients and their families on mood disorders, available treatment options, and effective self-care strategies to promote improved mental health outcomes.

• Monitor client progress through consistent follow-up sessions, documenting changes and adapting treatment plans as necessary to optimize effectiveness.

• Work in partnership with psychiatrists and other healthcare professionals on the team to ensure integrated care that meets all aspects of a client’s mental and emotional health.

• Stay informed about advancements in the field of mental health and mood disorders, integrating new knowledge into practice to enhance treatment quality.

• Maintain strict confidentiality and exact documentation for each client session, treatment plan, and assessment in compliance with legal and ethical standards.

• Participate in team meetings, case consultations, and engage in continuous professional development to enrich your clinical skills.

• Act as an advocate for your clients, working to reduce the stigma associated with mental health issues and promoting their needs within the community.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

As part of Heartlight Counseling Center, you will primarily focus on individuals battling mood disorders. This includes a diverse population of clients, ranging from young adults to older adults, who may experience complications stemming from anxiety-related challenges, depression, and other mood-related disorders. You will be instrumental in not just addressing their symptoms, but also empowering them to lead fulfilling lives through tailored interventions and personalized support.

Qualifications\n

• A valid therapist license in California (LCSW, LPCC, or LMFT) without any disciplinary actions and in good standing.
\n
• A Master’s degree in Social Work or a related field, with relevant educational background to meet certification standards.
\n
• A minimum of three years of post-licensure experience working directly with individuals experiencing mental health concerns.
\n
• An understanding of California laws and professional ethics pertinent to mental health practice.
\n
• Current clearance from an FBI and DOJ background check, in addition to a recent negative TB test (within the last six months).

Preferred Experience\n

• Experience working with clients facing learning disabilities, behavioral issues, and social-emotional disorders is highly desirable.

• Background in addiction counseling is a plus, as it complements our holistic approach to mental health care.

Compensation and Benefits\n
