FOOD ADMINISTRATOR II (CORRECTIONAL FACILITY)

Food Administrator II, CF – Bakersfield Regional Office Classification: JC-499769 Salary: $7,985.00 – $9,920.00 per month Location: Kern County, Bakersfield Job Type: Permanent, Full Time Telework: Hybrid Responsibilities Plan, organize, and direct all food service and dietary activities in a large correctional facility health care program serving 3 meals a day to a minimum of 500 residents. Work with clinical personnel on nutrition assessments, needs, dietary interventions and strategies, and plan dietary menus per clinical instruction. Develop, interpret, and apply standards and procedures governing the operation of the food service department; plan menus, estimate food requirements, and direct the preparation and service of food in accordance with the State food control system. Inspect food facilities for compliance with sanitary, safety, and housekeeping standards. Plan and conduct in‑service training programs for food service staff. Maintain order and supervise the conduct of inmates and protect and maintain the safety of persons and property. Minimum Qualifications One year of experience in California state service performing the duties of a Food Administrator I (Correctional Facility) or Food Administrator I. OR two years of experience in a position comparable to that of a dietitian, nutritionist, or food service manager that has included supervisory responsibility for a program of food preparation, serving, buying, storage, and nutritional accounting in a hospital, school, industrial plant, or similar organization serving a minimum of 500 persons per meal. Education equivalent to graduation from college and completion of an approved internship in institutional management or dietetics; membership in the American Dietetic Association or eligibility for such membership may substitute for the required internship.
