Key Responsibilities

As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor at Nystrom & Family Care Therapy, your responsibilities will include:

• Conducting comprehensive trauma-informed assessments to evaluate patients' mental health status and trauma histories.
• Developing and implementing individualized treatment plans that prioritize trauma recovery and resilience.
• Providing evidence-based interventions such as Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR).
• Facilitating both individual and group therapy sessions designed to help patients process their trauma effectively.
• Collaborating closely with psychiatrists and other healthcare professionals to ensure an integrated and holistic approach to patient care.
• Offering crisis intervention strategies during times of acute emotional distress related to trauma.
• Educating patients and their families about trauma responses and coping strategies, empowering them with knowledge and resources.
• Maintaining accurate, confidential patient records in compliance with HIPAA and other regulatory standards.
• Participating in professional development and case consultation meetings to enhance team collaboration and contribute to the evolution of trauma-informed practices.
• Staying current with the latest research and methodologies in trauma therapy to provide the best possible care.

Patient Population / Client Focus

You will work primarily with individuals impacted by various forms of trauma, including but not limited to PTSD, complex trauma, and dissociative disorders. Our patients often come from diverse backgrounds and possess unique experiences that influence their mental health needs. Your role will be essential in helping these individuals process their experiences and develop effective coping mechanisms to manage their symptoms.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, candidates must possess:

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
• Current and valid licensure as an LICSW, LMHC, or LMFT in the state of Massachusetts.
• Demonstrated understanding of trauma-informed care principles and trauma-related disorders.
• Proficiency in utilizing EHR systems and other relevant software tools to ensure accurate documentation and efficient workflow.
• Strong interpersonal skills with a focus on compassionate, client-centered communication.

Preferred Experience

While a minimum of two years of post-licensure experience in mental health counseling is preferred, we value candidates who demonstrate a heartfelt commitment to trauma recovery, and a strong desire to contribute positively to patient outcomes. Knowledge of crisis intervention practices and previous experience in telehealth delivery systems will further enhance your candidacy.

Compensation and Benefits

The compensation package for this position is competitive, with an annual salary ranging from USD 90,000 to 100,000. Our benefits package includes:
