About the Role
The Company is in search of a Senior Director, Business Development with a focus on asset-level business development and out-licensing. The role is highly visible and externally facing, requiring the successful candidate to lead out-licensing and strategic partnering activities for a portfolio of preclinical and clinical-stage therapeutics. Key responsibilities include identifying and originating new partnering opportunities, developing relationships across the pharmaceutical and biotechnology ecosystem, and leading transactions from initial outreach to post-deal transition. The ideal candidate will have an advanced scientific degree, approximately 10 years of experience in the biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry, and a proven track record in large out-licensing transactions. A strong network of decision-makers and partnering contacts, as well as the ability to operate hands-on in a fast-moving environment, is essential. The role demands a candidate with a deep understanding of the drug discovery and development lifecycle, experience in developing asset partnering strategies, and the ability to evaluate market, competitive, scientific, and commercial intelligence to inform business development and portfolio strategy. The Senior Director will also be responsible for developing financial models, assessing deal structures, and supporting broader strategic transactions. The position requires a commercially aggressive and entrepreneurial individual who is also scientifically credible, with strong executive presence, negotiation skills, and the ability to influence senior stakeholders. The candidate should be comfortable with periodic travel and have experience mentoring or developing junior business development professionals.
