We are looking for an Accounts Receivable Specialist to join a construction-focused organization in Chattanooga, Tennessee on an immediate contract basis with permanent potential. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, high-volume environment and takes pride in producing accurate financial records. The right candidate will bring strong Excel skills, sound communication abilities, and a team-oriented approach to daily work. **This is an in-office position in Chattanooga, Tennessee**
Responsibilities:
• Record and update accounts receivable transactions in the accounting system with a high degree of accuracy and timeliness.
• Review invoices, payment details, and supporting records to confirm information is complete, correct, and aligned with company standards.
• Investigate discrepancies in receivable data, identify root causes, and make corrections to maintain reliable financial records.
• Apply cash receipts, support billing activity, and assist with commercial collections as needed to keep account balances current.
• Contribute to month-end closing activities by completing assigned data entry and reconciliation tasks within required deadlines.
• Manage a large volume of financial information while maintaining organization, consistency, and confidentiality.
• Collaborate with teammates to balance workloads, provide support during peak periods, and help ensure departmental goals are met.
• Communicate clearly with internal contacts regarding account questions, documentation needs, and issue resolution.

• At least 1 year of experience in data entry and 1 year of accounts receivable or general accounting work.
• Background working in a high-volume receivables setting with strong attention to detail.
• Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills, including the ability to use VLOOKUPs and PivotTables.
• Experience with accounts receivable functions such as cash applications, billing, cash activity, and commercial collections.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work effectively across a team.
• Proven ability to manage deadlines, resolve discrepancies independently, and maintain confidentiality with sensitive financial data.
