Work Environment

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive evaluations to assess patients' physical conditions, including detailed reviews of medical histories and functional assessments to devise personalized treatment plans.
• Clearly communicate evaluation results and treatment strategies to patients and their families, promoting their active involvement in goal-setting for recovery.
• Implement evidence-based treatment protocols that are tailored to individual patient needs while adapting practices based on ongoing assessment and progress.
• Collaborate with a team of healthcare professionals to coordinate care; ensure timely documentation of treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries to facilitate seamless transitions in care.
• Manage patient schedules efficiently, ensuring consistent communication with both patients and team members regarding appointments and follow-up care.
• Participate in community outreach initiatives and marketing activities that enhance patient awareness and improve access to physical therapy services.
• Engage in continuous professional development through training, mentorship, and clinical instruction, establishing yourself as a resource for others in the organization.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Qualifications

• A Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy; a Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) is strongly preferred.
• A valid state license to practice physical therapy in Virginia is required.
• Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers from the American Heart Association.
• Dedication to continuing education and the pursuit of professional excellence.

Preferred Experience

• A minimum of 2 years of experience in a clinical setting is preferred but not required.
• Experience in outpatient therapy settings is advantageous, as understanding patient flow and clinic operations is essential.
